This is a video made for a class called "Literacy, Technology and Instruction." In it, I go through the process of setting up a loom and weaving, and I discuss some of what it means to be "literate" in a subject area.

@SuperNudos I'm on the East Coast, but try Googling the Southern California Handweavers Guild, which is probably a great place to start. You can contact a member of the Guild and ask them for suggestions on places to take classes; it even looks like they offer some workshops a few times a year! Let us know how it goes!

I like the whole art of weaving. The old world was so smart and so advanced that things haven't changed much. Thanks for the videos because they help alot.

I want a loom so badly, but the cheapest one online is $995...Oh well... Get a job and save up.

@stefannhika: That is totally dependent on lots of factors, including what type of loom you are using, how thick or thin your warp and weft threads are, weaving pattern, your experience level, and of course if you have any issues to troubleshoot (the latter being inevitable and a big time eater). But, generally, if you have a thick warp and weft, and you are using a simple pattern like plain weave or twill it will work up faster.
